I do believe a better world is well within our grasp
and finding how to make that happen our most pressing task
I think I’ve found it all boils down to one essential key:
Find who holds the surest truth, the right philosophy
We each believe the truths we hold can help improve out plight
But how in Heaven’s name can we be CERTAIN that we’re right?
For many years now I’ve examined different schools of thought,
and I can say with clarity a couple of things I’m NOT:

Hopeless as it all might seem

I’ve got a problem with most “isms” and worldviews that I’ve seen
It’s much the same with most religions—if you know just what I mean
Give me peace, and give me love, that’s right where I’m at
I do believe the truest creed has gotta be full of that
“Where’d we come from?” “What’s our problem?” and “Can this mess be fixed??”
Are questions needing answers, and we’d better find some quick
It’s hard to join a party when the parties seem so sick
“The lesser of two evils” is not anything that I’d pick
