3 things that stood out to me regarding the verses I chose for this song:

—I will give thanks to the Lord because of HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS: HIS righteousness, His RIGHT-ness, His always being right in His decisions and actions…He is the ultimate judge and is just in each and every one of His decisions and judgements (another word used a lot in the Bible).

Of course, this can be painful for us when we feel we are suffering something unjustly, something we ‘DON’T DESERVE.’ Until you realize that we deserve HELL, yet are given heaven and countless good things n spite of that—it’s all His MERCY that we have anything good at all.

This is like the Romans 8:28 of the Old Testament: God makes ALL things, even the worst things, work together for our good—if we love Him, and as THE WORD translates it: when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan.

—I will sing the praises of THE NAME of the Lord Most High: There are many verses about the NAME of the Lord; that seems to have been important to use (and praise) the NAME in those times—today we pray in Jesus’ name, etc. I’m used to praising the Lord Himself, but obviously it was a custom to praise the NAME of the Lord in those days, so I’m going to work on that.

—The Lord MOST HIGH: I love that because it shows He is high ABOVE our problems and circumstances, seeing the big picture, and passing us what we need to improve our lives and draw us closer to Him.
