about

Phoebe Joy Wilding came to visit her sister Esther around Easter 2011, who at the time was living & working with us with us and our family--she quickly became part of our hearts and lives, and we had nearly 2 wonderful years with her. We fought along side her when she became increasingly ill with some mysterious sickness. I accompanied her to her first hospital visit on June 12, 2012, where she was diagnosed with leukemia, immediately interned & whisked away into the medical world, where she would spend the next 6 months or so fighting this sickness in 2 countries. She beat it for a brief period, only to have it return after a short break, to the disappointment of all.

She made the courageous decision to cease treatment after a pretty bleak explanation of the likely outcome, which wasn't an easy decision for anyone who knew & loved her. But we were able to accompany on her journey, and enjoy her until the very end, which came on March 20, 2013, one day before the rebirth of spring, when while sleeping, she passed from those who loved her most, to Him who truly loved her more than any of us ever could.

She was 'the best friend' of a couple of my daughters, the nanny and friend of another daughter for many months, a joy to all she knew, and is missed...

As a surprise and (I would like to think) a departure gift for her and her closest loved ones--and for all of us that loved her--on Feb. 14 Valentine's Day, 5 weeks before her departure from this life to Realms Above, I received this song--perhaps to help ease the pain of 'letting go.

We love you, Phoebe--see you in good time.

lyrics

Sleep now, my little one,
And wake up in the arms of Him Who loves you truly,
Who loved you wholly,
Who gave Himself for you and knows just what you’re going through,
And lives so you can live and love forever, too.

Sleep now, my hurting one
You see the night is fast approaching, but remember
Tho’ you may tremble
The arms that carried you till now will soon be seen by you,
And you’ll be happier than you have ever been.

Bridge:
So fly into the day
Yes, fly into the light
Leave all your cares behind
And don’t you mind:
We’ll be all right…

Weep not my little one, for those you leave behind,
We give you our permission:
Go do your mission;
We’ll ache without you, but we’ll join you on that joyous day,
When pain and death have been forever put away

So sleep now, my little one,
And wake up in the land we here can only dream of
Touch, Feel, and See love
And make a place for us, for we will join you in good time,
And be together with you, soul, body and mind.

Bridge:
So fly into the day
Yes, fly into the light
Leave all your cares behind;
And don’t you mind:
We’ll be all right…

So sleep now, my little one,
And wake up in the land we here can only dream of
Touch, Feel, and See love
And make a place for us, for we will join you in good time,
And be together with you, soul, body and mind.
We’ll be as one forever, all together…
See you in good time--
In His time.
